It’s Lit Books

I started It’s Lit because I know firsthand how powerful it is to see yourself in the stories you read. As a biracial Black woman, I grew up searching for books that reflected my experiences—only to find that representation was scarce. Even as a literature major in college, I rarely encountered BIPOC authors in the curriculum. It wasn’t until I actively sought out diverse books and connected with like-minded readers that I truly found my literary community.

That’s why I created It’s Lit—to make discovering diverse, joyful, and transformative stories easier for readers who want to expand their bookshelves.
